Wanda Sue Bone

Wanda Sue Bone, 79, of Belmont passed away on August 31, 2022 at Peak Resources in Gastonia. She was born on March 18, 1943 to the late John and Flossie Dowdle. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Taylor Bone; brothers, Elmer Dowdle, Willard Dowdle, Doyle Dowdle, and Leonard Dowdle; and sisters, Hazel Wiggins, Marie Carriker, and Edna Mae Wheat. Wanda loved life in general. She enjoyed traveling to and spending time in Cherokee and Bryson City. She loved to cook, go bowling, and play horeshoes. Wanda loved her family and all of her grandchildren. She was a loving Mom and Grandmother.
Survivors include her sons, Jeff Bone, Deron Bone and wife Cathy, and Rodney Bone and wife Jennie; brothers, Dale Dowdle and wife Bonnie and Wayne Dowdle; 4 grandchildren, Andrew, Ansley, Cody, and Erica; 1 great grandchild, Kensley; sister in law, Loretta Dowdle; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Benson Funeral & Cremation Services, Mt. Holly with Rev. Donnie Stowe officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow immediately at Evergreen "A Quiet Place" Cemetery in Belmont.
