Wanda Mae Kelly Carr, 87, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Born in Scott County to the late Iva House Kelly and Clyde Kelly on August 1, 1937, Wanda was a member of Scott County High School's first graduating class. She attended the original Great Crossing High School and was a cheerleader at both schools. Wanda worked for the Kentucky State Government in Frankfort, where she retired and remained a resident with her husband of almost 30 years, Robert Carr. Wanda was Baptist and former member of Crosswoods Christian Church in Nicholasville, Kentucky.
Wanda was known for always looking good and having a great outfit, jewelry, and shoes, but she was down to earth as well. She liked to fish, even going on Mother's Day with her family. She also enjoyed her Wednesday night dinners with her girlfriends, and an occasional shopping trip. Family though was Wanda's greatest passion in life - her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a great cook and loved having family gatherings, especially during the holidays.
Wanda will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Robert "Bobby" Carr; her children, Jerry (Tami) Graves of Gulf Shores, Alabama, Michael (Cindy) Graves of Stamping Ground, Kentucky, Lorri Graves (Tony) Littrell of Stamping Ground, and Judy Carr of Georgetown, Kentucky; her brothers, Clyde Kelly of Frankfort, Kentucky, and Ronnie Kelly of Georgetown; her grandchildren, Kelly (Xavier) Bryant, Kayla (Sydney) McFarland, Kristy (Jason) Quickert, Joseph Fowler, Daniel (Lisa) Fowler, Rebecca (Dustin) Combs, Daryl Graves, Andrew Graves, Jesse (Ashley) Graves, Lynn (Jill) Graves, and Stevie Coffman; her great-grandchildren, Ben, Kayde, Brad, Callie, Lane, Chloe, Mason, Zoe, Addylynn, Makenna, Jaxson, Autumn, Keaten, Michael, Stephen, and Seth; her special friends, Thelma, Shirley, and Joyce; and little faithful companion, Suzy. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Iva Kelly; her infant sister, Betty Rose Kelly; her daughter, Cheryl Carr; and a grandson, Chad Coffman.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 5:30 pm Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Silas Baptist Church, 274 Silas Road, Paris, Kentucky. Bro. Curtis Coots will officiate, and a public Visitation will begin at 4:00 pm until service time. Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home has the arrangements. Friends and family are encouraged to leave their condolences and memories here on Wanda's tribute wall.
