Wandel Ray Pennington

Wandel Ray Pennington, age 81, of Covington, KY, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025. Born on March 10, 1944, in Covington, Ray was the beloved son of the late Andy Pennington and Irene Freeman. A lifelong resident of Northern Kentucky, Ray found joy in the simple pleasures of life-spending quiet mornings fishing and cheering on his favorite team, the Cincinnati Bengals. His warm spirit, sense of humor, and unwavering loyalty made him a cherished presence in the lives of his family and friends. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Pennington. He leaves behind many who will deeply miss him, including his step-son Allen Smith; brothers Gary Pennington and James Pennington; sisters Patricia Wagers and Berisa Lewis; and his devoted niece and caregiver, Bobbie Lewis. Ray is also survived by a loving extended family of nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ray's life on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. followed by the Funeral Service at 12:00 P.M. at Serenity Funeral Care, 40 West 6th Street, Covington, KY 41011.
