Ward Stiles Obituary
Ward retired from CP & L/Duke Energy as a Control Room Operator after a 45-year career. He was a member of Hominy Masonic Lodge 491 A.E. & A.M and the Knights of Solomon Masonic Lodge 774 A.F. and A.M., a past board member and volunteer with Enka Candler Volunteer Fire and Rescue and a member of Buncombe County Rescue Squad.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Glena Chris Ward Stiles; two daughters, Meredith Doehling and her husband, Jon of Denver, CO and Laurel Stiles of Candler; sister, Norma Warren and her husband, Edwin of Canton and two grandchildren, Ada and James Doehling.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Snow Hill United Methodist Church with Reverend Tom Hunter officiating. The family will receive friends at the church, following the service. Ward's Masonic Brothers will serve as honorary pall bearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Enka Fire Department, 85 Pisgah Highway, Candler, NC 28715.
The care of Mr. Stiles has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
