Obituary of Wayne Taylor Anthony
Wayne Taylor Anthony was born on July 22, 1957 to Mariam and Paul Anthony. He grew up in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, where he attended the Hillside Elementary School and the Hastings Middle School. Wayne was very active in the Boy Scouts attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. For high school and junior college Wayne attended the Valley Forge Military Academy (VFMA) in Pennsylvania. During his time there, Wayne earned a sharpshooter medal and participated in the Reserve Officers' Training Corps. Wayne even parachute jumped in full battle gear, which he described as not so much as jumping as being suctioned out of the plane.
After graduating from VFMA, Wayne attended Saint Thomas Aquinas College where he earned a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. In addition, Wayne earned a certificate in computer programming from Mercy College.
In 1997, Wayne became a resident of Peekskill, New York. He went to work for G&Z systems where he provided IT support and was the system administrator for the company's internal systems. Following his long tenure at G&Z, Wayne brought his extensive IT skills to Network Adjusters, Inc. In 2025, Wayne entered a well deserved retirement.
Over the years in Peekskill, Wayne was surrounded by good friends and neighbors. Wayne loved to tinker on many projects and had many hobbies to which he added his unique brand of creativity and technical know how. For example, in model rocketry, Wayne designed, built, decorated and launched large scale model rockets as a member of the National Association of Rocketry. Wayne's numerous other hobbies included kite flying, gardening, perfecting his recipe for chili, hiking, geocaching, and motorcyle riding with his friends.
As a life-long animal lover, Wayne always had pets. Beginning with many childhood animals, continuing on to his beloved dog Wookie and then to his two cats, Lacy and Misty.
To those who knew him, Wayne was an independent and gentle soul with a low-key sense of humor. He was always ready to lend a hand or do a favor.
After a long illness, Wayne passed in October 2025. He will be missed by many. He is survived by his sister, Susan Roberts, his brother-in-law, Baron Roberts, his nephew, Michael Roberts and his neice, Olivia Roberts.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wayne's name to SPCA Westchester.
