Wayne H. Dyson, Sr. - born on August 14, 1940, in Philadelphia, PA, was a man whose wit, wisdom, and faith were evident to all those fortunate enough to have known him. His loving nature was a consistent blessing to everyone in his life and his ready help was always offered with respectful humility. Wayne was a gentle soul, always glad to be around others but also glad for a quiet opportunity to sneak off and read a good book.
Wayne had a heart full of devotion for his family, his faith, and his church. He was an Elder at the Third Reformed Presbyterian Church where he also served for many years as Sunday School teacher and Treasurer. Wayne's faith was the bedrock of his life, and his love for his Savior was evident to all, especially his family.
Wayne's loving memory is cherished by his devoted spouse, Doris Dyson, his sons, Glenn Dyson and Mark Dyson; daughters-in-law Patricia and Colleen. His legacy lives on in his grandchildren: Brianna Heasley (Tom), Kaitlin Dyson, Matthew Dyson (Kasey), Sean Dyson (Caitriana), and Taylor Dyson (Jeffrey Quinn), and especially in his great-grandchild, Emma Elizabeth Heasley. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Emma Dyson, his son, Wayne Dyson Jr., and his sister, Nancy Carlisle.
A visitation for Wayne will be held on Saturday, 25th October 2025, from 8:30 to 9:30am at Third Reformed Presbyterian Church, 3024 Byberry Road Philadelphia, PA 19154. His Homegoing Service will follow Saturday, 10:00 am at the church. Wayne will be laid to rest in Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA.
In remembering Wayne Dyson, we celebrate a life well lived, a love freely given, and a faith firmly held. We invite you to share your memories, stories, and photos of Wayne on his memorial page, as we honor his life and the love he shared with us all.
