It is with profound sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Alfred William Mersiowsky, Jr., affectionately known as Al or Fred, on October 5, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on August 17, 1954, Alfred epitomized the quintessential gentleman - compassionate, humble, supportive, and loving. He was a retired computer professional from Philadelphia Electric, where his colleagues admired his diligence and dedication. A true Philadelphian at heart, Alfred cherished the city's sports and was a fervent reader with keen interest in politics and history. He also shared an unparalleled bond with his cat, Bernie.

Alfred was a man of quiet strength and unyielding love. He reveled in the simple moments, be it a shared joke, a family dinner, or a warm conversation. He was a gentle soul who treated everyone with equal respect and kindness. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he devoted himself to them wholeheartedly.

Alfred is survived by his children - Brian Mersiowsky, Matthew Mersiowsky and Alison Riddle; his cherished grandchildren, Josephine, Isabella, Evelyn and Connor; father, Alfred Mersiowsky; his siblings- Steve Mersiowsky, Wendy Selvaggi, and Daniel Mersiowsky. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Georgia Mersiowsky.

Friends and family are invited to greet Alfred's family on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Lambie Funeral Home, 8000 Rowland Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 19136. A memorial service to celebrate Alfred's life will follow 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the family's request.

Alfred's life was a testament to the power of kindness, the beauty of humility, and the enduring strength of love. His light will continue to shine in our hearts and memories. We encourage all who knew Alfred to share their memories and upload photos to his memorial page, honoring the unique, loving individual he was.
