Joseph Paul Cifelli passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6th, 2025 at the age of 61, after a courageous battle against brain cancer.
Joseph was born in Milan, Italy on January 2,1964 and came to the United States after being adopted by his parents Joseph and Paula. Joseph, affectionally known by all as "Joey" grew up in Northeast Philadelphia. He attended Archbishop
Ryan H.S. then continued his education at LaSalle University. He completed his bachelor's degree at Holy Family University. He worked at the Unisys Corporation in Blue Bell, Pa as an Administrative Assistant in the Office of the General Counsel for 15 years.
He then dedicated his time to taking care of his aging father. At that time, he took a part time position with Maternity BVM at night working in the Parish Hall. He attended to the CYO sports games and The Boy Scout meetings and events. In addition to that he was responsible for setting up various events in the Hall
including Bingo nights and School Dance parties. Joey was actively involved in the Parish as a volunteer on the Carnival Committee, The Alumni Committee, as well as being active in the Seniors taking his father to weekly meetings. He had been an Usher in the Church as well as a Eucharistic Minister for many years.
Outside of his daily life with Maternity BVM, He was the Judge of Elections for the voting Ward at Baldi School. He was his father's caregiver in his later years. Joey epitomized what a life of service should be, and he genuinely loved helping people.

He is preceded in his death by his parents Joseph and Paula Cifelli.
He is survived by his only sister Lisa Bachman, his nephew T.J. Bachman(Colleen) and niece Angela Demeraski (Eric) and his two precious cats Pawlie and Stache.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Tuesday, October 14th from 9 to 10:30am at the Maternity BVM Church, 9220 Old Bustleton Avenue, Phila PA 19115. His Funeral Mass will begin at 11am. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

To the family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. Joe was one of the nicest people I´ve ever known, he had such a kind and caring heart and he was always ready and willing to help anyone who needed it. His personality and laughter was enough to light up any room and I consider myself very lucky to have known him and work alongside of him. I will truly miss him.
