Wayne H. Gorman, age 89, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025. Born on July 7, 1935, in Iuka, Mississippi, Wayne was the beloved son of the late Harris Gorman and Lorrene Schultz.
Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Navy for four years. Following his military service, he embarked on a career as a radar engineer, contributing to national defense as a dedicated defense contractor.
In 1959, Wayne married the love of his life, Betty Sue Olhausen. Together, they celebrated 66 years of a beautiful and enduring marriage. Wayne was a devoted family man who loved coaching Little League Baseball and was a loyal supporter of the Fort Walton Beach Vikings. As a faithful usher at his church, The Chapel, Wayne's kindness and warm presence touched many lives.
Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Sue Gorman; cherished daughters, Paula (Michial) McClellan, Karen (Ken) Broughton, and Kathleen (Greg) Smith; and his adored grandchildren, Gillian McClellan, Payton Smith, Jackson Broughton, and Trent Smith. He was predeceased by his sisters, Peggy Lott and Wydell Reed.
A celebration of Wayne's life will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Emerald Coast Funeral Home Chapel, with Fr. Mike Madison officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Beal Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Wayne's memory.
Wayne's legacy of love, dedication, and service will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
