Mr. Wayne “Gypsy” Earl Carter, age 77, passed away on August 21, 2025 at his residence. He was a native of Boone, Iowa.
Mr. Carter served his country with pride for 4 years in the US Air Force and over 18 years in the Iowa Air National Guard, later retiring in 1991. He was a proud lifetime member of VFW Post 2426 in Gulfport, Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Robin; his son, John; and his parents.
Mr. Carter is survived by his son, Michael Smith (Kari), and daughter, Amanda Smith (James); his grandchildren, Cody and Samantha Carter; and great-grandchildren, Winston and Solomon.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks for your thoughts and prayers during this time. The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
