Wayne was born on September 28, 1928 in Bloomery, WV, the son of the late Raymond Clyde and Clarice Braithwaite Peacemaker. He was a 1946 graduate of Capon Bridge High School, a veteran in the United States National Guard, a product manager for Royal Crown Cola in Winchester, VA for 42 years and a member of the Ebenezer Christian Church in Gore, VA, where he served as an elder & deacon.
Wayne married his first wife: Juanita Omps Peacemaker. Juanita died on November 7, 1991. He married his second wife: Elsie Ewing Flynn on December 10, 1994 in Gore, VA.
Surviving with his wife of 30 years is a son: Michael W. Peacemaker (Jane) of Winchester, VA; a daughter: Linda F. Ricketts of Winchester, VA; a sister: Nancy Boyers of Winchester, VA; two grandchildren: Whitney Ricketts & Nicholas Peacemaker and a great-grandson: Ayden Dohm.
He is preceded in death by a brother: Eugene Peacemaker and four sisters: Rita Bradfield, Violet McDonald, Ruby Williams & Mildred Peacemaker.
A graveside service will be held at the Ebenezer Cemetery in Gore, VA on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 1:00 PM. Officiating will be Pastor Tom Mounts.
Family will receive friends at the Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory in Capon Bridge, WV on Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 6-8 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Winchester, VA 22601, https://brhospice.org/ or Ebenezer Christian Church or Cemetery, 2158 Ebenezer Church Road, Gore, VA 22637.
