A memorial service will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 8, 2025, with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell, officiating. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.

Wayne was born in Phoenix, Arizona to Guy Stewart and Ione (Walker) Stewart on December 18, 1951. He grew up in Andrews, Texas, where he graduated from Andrews High School in 1970. Wayne then attended Texas Tech University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and History in 1974 and earning his Texas Teacher Certificate in 1975. It was in Lubbock, Texas where Wayne met the love of his life, Vicki Lynne Stewart in 1973. Shortly after, they were married on July 6,1974 in Lubbock at Second Baptist Church. Wayne and Vicki moved to Odessa, Texas in December of 1974 where they made their home and raised their two amazing children, Heather Rene and Justin Wayne and built the life of their dreams.

Wayne spent over 51 years in the oil and gas industry, working for companies like Melco, M & L Valve, and the Holloman Corporation. Through his strong work ethic and drive to succeed, he became the Director of Business Development for the Holloman Corporation, helping build the company along the way for almost 22 years with his brilliant personality and gift of gab.

Out of everything Wayne achieved in his life, the thing he was most proud of was his family. The undeniable, strong, dependent, and consistent love he had and showed for those he loved was unmatched. He was an amazing Husband, Father, Bampy, Great-Bampy, Brother, Uncle, bonus Dad, and friend. Wayne was the brightest of lights even in the darkest of rooms. He could talk to and become friends with anyone he met. Always present, on top of his game, and forever respected, the impact Wayne made on anyone and everyone’s life, even if only briefly, will never be forgotten.

Wayne is preceded in death by his father, Guy Stewart, his mother, Ione Stewart, his father-in-law, Kenneth Givens, mother-in-law, Wilda Teague, and his niece, Cindy Carr.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 52 years, Vicki Stewart of Odessa, Texas, daughter, Heather Rene Morgan of Odessa, Texas, son, Justin Wayne Stewart and wife Jennifer of Little Axe, Oklahoma, sister, Sherry Carr and nephew Christopher Carr of Odessa Texas, two grandsons, Gavyn Morgan and Hayden Morgan, his 5 granddaughters, India Stewart, Brooklyn Spoonemore, Sydney Stewart, Daphney Spoonemore, and Charlie Jo Ione Stewart, and 2 great-grandchildren, Kehlani Morgan and Kyison Morgan, as well as multiple other adopted bonus sons and daughters and friends he has gained over the years.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Justin Stewart, Gavyn Morgan, Hayden Morgan, Dustin Blair, Ryan Atchison, Tim LeMoine, Logan Lynch, and Ryan O’Rear.
