Wayne Turpin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Chapel & Cremation Center - South Jordan on Aug. 21, 2023.
Wayne Sterling Turpin was born on December 17th, 1943 to Clarence and Tressie Fern Turpin and passed away on August 18th, 2023. Wayne grew up in Fairview, Utah on his family farm. He attended North Sanpete High School and enjoyed sports as a young man, a passion that continued throughout his life, especially for his BYU Cougars. After high school, he attended BYU before serving in Vietnam where he received The Army's Commendation Medal for distinguished service.
After returning home from Vietnam, he worked as a dairy farmer in Fairview. He met and married the love of his life, Pam Blackham, and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on February 16th, 1983. Wayne and Pam built their home in South Jordan, Utah where he lived for the rest of his life. If you saw Pam, you saw Wayne. They were one.
Wayne held many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served with dedication and honor. He received his accounting degree from BYU and worked as an accountant for Cream of Weber with the utmost work ethic and integrity.
Wayne was a kind, gentleman with a dry sense of humor and held a special place in the hearts of his nieces and nephews. He took a genuine interest in their lives and treated them like his own. Wayne was his niece's and nephew's greatest sports fan and attended their countless games, activities, and events.
Wayne loved gardening. He shared his produce with family and friends, and always had a beautiful yard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Stanley Turpin, and brother-in-law Chad Blackham, and is survived by his wife, Pam, siblings Howard (Kathy) Turpin, Kevin (JoAnn) Turpin, and Robyn (Roger) Poulson; in-laws Leonard (Laura) Blackham, Gay (Merwin) Kjar, Jackee (Scott) Mower, and Cathy Blackham-Alatorre.
Graveside service will be held on August 26th at 10:30 am at the Moroni Cemetery. A video recording of the graveside service will be made available to watch on Wayne's obituary page at Jenkins-Soffe.com shortly after the service.
