Wayne Walters Obituary

Wayne graduated from Wadsworth High School in 1943. He then proudly serviced in the US Army and was stationed in Europe. Wayne retired from Babcock and Wilcox after 41 years of service. He was member of First Evangelist Lutheran Church in Barberton,Ohio for over 55 years and served many years on the church council and property committee.
Wayne was a member of the Wadsworth Masonic Lodge 385 F&AM, A.A.S.R. Valley of Akron and Rubber Capital Jim Bean Bottle Club.
Survived by his loving wife of 55 years Clara (Dankenbrink) Walters, nephew Kurt (Cathy) Grassell, great nephew, Dan (Maggie) Grassell, great great niece Karen Seib and family. There are many other nieces and nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by his sister Naoma Grassell and brother in law Web Grassell.
The family has deep appreciation and thanks for Frank Schleis, Pat Snow, Debra Snow and Nancy Jenkins for their love and support.
The family will receive friends 11am-1pm of Friday, August 8, 2025 at Hilliard Rospert Funeral Home 174 N. Lyman St. A funeral service will follow at 1pm with pastor Erik Swanson officiating.
There will be Masonic Services at 12:45pm. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Wayne was such a wonderful person to know. He was devoted to the church and was a hard worker on the property committee. He will be missed.
