Wesley John Bray went to his heavenly home unexpectedly on October 31, 2023, at age 68.
He was born on August 20, 1955 in Watertown, WI to John and Eileen (Tunak) Bray. Wesley graduated from Oconomowoc High School in 1974. He married Marcia Tetzlaff on July 3, 1976. Together they raised two beautiful daughters, Angela and Jennifer. Wesley worked at Briggs and Stratton/Strattec and retired from there after 30 years. Following retirement, Wesley worked for Greater Milwaukee Auto Auction and Piggly Wiggly in Hartford. Wesley was a man who took pride in his work, whether it was at his job or doing a home improvement project. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Wesley balanced his work life by watching the Green Bay Packers or caring for and spotlessly cleaning one of his beloved Ford vehicles. He also enjoyed spending time with their Cairn Terrier, Ringo, who brought him endless amounts of joy. Wesley loved classic rock music; he had played the drums from the age of 8 all through school and continued to play in later years. Together, Wesley and Marcia enjoyed going to the beach along the Gulf of Mexico, a favorite travel destination. Wesley always looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren. He beamed with pride at their accomplishments, and he was their biggest fan! If you knew Wesley, your mind would bring a picture of him smiling or laughing. His laugh was easily recognizable, even in a crowd. His sense of humor was priceless. In heavy situations, he could always make things lighter. His laughter had the power to light up an entire room. Wesley will be remembered by many.
Wesley is survived by his dear mother Eileen Bray. He will be much missed by Marcia, his wife of 47 years, as well as their daughters Angela (Robert) Alexander and Jennifer (Thomas Jr.) Wirsbinsky. Wesley's memory will live on in his grandchildren, Jacob and Addison Alexander and Jillian, Drake and Griffin Wirsbinsky. He will be remembered by his sister Linda Grabarz (Ed Sorenson) and brother Gary (Kathy) Bray. Wesley is further survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law Dale (Vicki) Tetzlaff, Renee (Timothy) Lauer, Christine (Jim) Weaver, and Kim (Rodney) Felder, and by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Wesley was preceded in death by his loving father John in 2022 and his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Anita Tetzlaff.
A Memorial Gathering will be held to honor Wesley's life on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., including a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. at Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union Street, Hartford, WI. 53027 You are welcome to join us for Wesley's Celebration of Life to follow at 6:00 p.m. at Hartford Square II Condo Clubhouse, 424 Simon Drive, Hartford, WI 53027.
