Wesley Eugene Champ, 70, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on October 23, 2025. He was born on November 15, 1954, in Joplin to William Champ and Nita Jean Hart.

Wesley was a 1972 graduate of Parkwood High School. He married Mickey Faye Smith, in 1991, and they shared many wonderful years together until her passing on March 3, 2025.

Wesley had a lifelong love of sports-he especially enjoyed playing baseball and cheering on his favorite teams. His warm personality, sense of humor, and love for family will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his mother, Nita Jean Johnson of Joplin; brother, Jack Johnson of Harrisonville, Missouri; and two sisters, Donna Smith of Bradley, South Carolina, and Billie Hodson of Carl Junction, Missouri. He is also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Wesley was preceded in death by his wife, Mickey; his father, William; and his brother, George Boyd.

A memorial service to celebrate Wesley's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories.

Wesley will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his kindness, laughter, and the love he shared with his family and friends.
