Wilford Eugene Abdon Jr., born on July 27, 1953, in Covington, KY, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2024, in Ellijay, GA. An adventurous soul, Wilford was known for his love of motorcycles and the great outdoors, a passion that paralleled the drive and dedication he exhibited as the Owner and Operator of Great Southern. He was also a committed member of the Patriot Guard, standing as a symbol of respect and honor.
Wilford had the remarkable ability to be both handy and thoughtful, traits that endeared him to many during his lifetime. He took genuine pride in the accomplishments of others and never missed a chance to express his admiration, leaving a warm and lasting impact on those he encountered. His legacy is one of encouragement and heartfelt pride, touching lives in ways that will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed. Mr. Abdon was preceded in death his parents, Wilford and Anne Abdon, Sr.; brother, Billy Abdon and nephew, Alan Bischoff.
Survivors include his sons, Jacob Abdon (Bonnie) and Marschal Abdon (Katelyn); grandchildren, Alexis Kline, Jaycee Abdon and Tyler Abdon; sisters, Sherril Treadway, Susie Swanson and Jan Abdon; nieces, Ashley Suddeth, Sherril Kleid, Sally McClary; nephew, Wesley Bischoff; as well as many great nieces and great nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
