Gertrude Ann Labbe

Gertrude Ann Labbe, affectionately known as Penny, age 83, passed away peacefully at her residence in Canton, Georgia, on October 8, 2025. She was born on August 19, 1942, in Hartford, Connecticut, to the late Paul and Mary O'Kane.
Penny was a retired bookkeeper for Sears and the Broward County School System. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose love for her family was at the center of everything she did. Whether cheering from the sidelines, volunteering at field days, or coaching softball, she dedicated her time and energy to her children and their passions.
In her later years, Penny found great joy in gardening, traveling, and expressing her creativity through sewing and crafting. She had a true green thumb and could make anything bloom. Her flower gardens were full of color and life-much like she was. She loved the beach, which was her happy place, and she never missed a chance to catch a Braves game.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur William Labbe, Jr.; her parents, Paul and Mary O'Kane; her sister, Kathy Lawton; and her daughter's fiancé, Stuart Baze.
Penny is survived by her daughters, Sandra Labbe Cox (husband Jay Cox) and Janice Labbe; her son, Lawrence William Labbe (wife Nancy Labbe); her cherished grandchildren, Reilly Cox, Ryan Labbe, and Emily Labbe; her brother, Paul O'Kane; and her sister, Sr. Mary Ann O'Kane.
A funeral service will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 490 Arnold Mill Road, Woodstock, GA 30188, on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.
Penny will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
