It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of Wilfred "Bill" Kleppel Jr., who passed away surrounded by his family on July 13, 2025, at the age of 60.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio to Wilfred and Jeannette Kleppel, he was a beloved husband, son, brother, inspiring uncle, godfather, and a dear friend to many. Bill was preceded in death by his loving mother Jeannette Kleppel. He is survived by his devoted wife Michelle Kleppel (nee Tipka); brothers Robert and Donald (Linda) Kleppel; sister, Suzanne (Dale) Kurek; uncle to Dr. Donald Joseph (Alyssa) Kleppel, Dr. Jason (Julia) Kleppel, Jeannette Kurek, and Jessica Kurek and; godfather to Jeannette Kurek, Jillian Yano, and Thomas Tipka.
Bill was a passionate paramedic for the City of Cleveland with an unwavering dedication to exceptional patient care. He was honored with the 2006 "Chris Holt" Award of Excellence in Prehospital Care presented by the MetroHealth System. He was also a chosen paramedic for two presidential motorcades. The son of a nurse and police officer, his profession was a divine calling. Bill was always quick to help anyone, especially his family, friends and neighbors, unselfishly.
Bill's love for riding motorcycles started when he was 12 years old. A motorcycle enthusiast whose favorite ride was with his wife on a twisting road to a live concert. He was also frequently seen riding his bicycle on the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail. Never one to sit still he was happiest in the woods with his weight pack or walking the shoreline at the beach with his faithful dogs, Ike and Ezra by his side.
He was an avid reader who enjoyed a variety of topics that fulfilled his passion for learning. He was always asking questions and engaging you in thoughtful conversations. He touched the hearts and minds of everyone he met, he will be remembered.
