William "Bill" Russell Carpenter of Mt. Carmel Community in Flemingsburg, Kentucky passed away, Monday, August 4, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born September 21, 1956, a son of the late Carl and Rosie Carpenter.
Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. Bill enjoyed people in general and most of all he loved the Lord by giving his testimony to writing songs and singing for the lord. He was also talented when it came to playing the guitar.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Johnson Carpenter; one daughter, Loretta (Josh) Patton; one son, Jacob (Beckie) Carpenter; four brothers, Kenneth (Minnie) Carpenter, Gary (Pat) Carpenter, Robin (Betty) Carpenter, and Fred (Connie) Carpenter; five sisters, Fredia Jarrells, Brenda (Billy Joe) Cropper, Hazel Carpenter, Donna (John) Hesler and Annie (Tommy) Reid. nine grandchildren, Karissa Carpenter, Hunter Carpenter, Isaiah Carpenter, Jacob Patton, Jeremy Patton, Trevin Ellis, Courtney Riley, Dalton Riley, and Shawn Adams; two great grandchildren, Renley Rain Ellis and Annaliese Adams; many other loving family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by one son, Billy Russell Carpenter; four brothers, Allen Carpenter, Marlin Carpenter, Ezra Carpenter, and Mark Carpenter; one sister Thelma Darlington; two nephews, Wesley Landsaw and Johnny Cropper.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, August 8, 2025, in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home, 405 South Main Cross Street, Flemingsburg, Kentucky 41041 with Brother Tony Corns officiating.
Bill will be laid to rest next to his son Billy in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Visitation is after 11:00 A.M until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Casket bearers will be Shawn Carpenter, Bobby Jolly, Robert Carpenter, Isaiah Carpenter, Hunter Carpenter, and Greg Arrasmith.
Honorary casket bearers will be Tommy Reid, Corey Carpenter, Fred Carpenter, Kenneth Carpenter, Robin Carpenter and Willie Jarrells.
All arrangements for William "Bill" Russell Carpenter and family are under the care and direction of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Flemingsburg.
