William R. Bartell

William R. Bartell, 73 of Stillwater, New York, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, April 20, 2024. Born in Buffalo, New York on April 16, 1951, he was the son of Robert and Eileen Bartell. Bill was a graduate of Kenmore East High School in Buffalo. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. He went on to earn degrees at Hudson Valley Community College and the University of Albany. Following college, he was employed at Barkers Department Store where he met the love of his life in 1976. He was the founder of Victory Vending of New York which he operated for ten years. Most recently, he was employed as an analyst for Maximus Inc. since 2014.
Bill enjoyed watching Buffalo Bills football, working in the garden, going on road trips, creating videos, making maple syrup, playing games, and serving at his church where he was a member for thirty-seven years. He was a visionary, always coming up with creative ideas at home and at church. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Bill is survived by his wife of 44 years, Wendy Meagley Bartell; his children, Robert (Beth) Bartell and Melissa (Mark Jr.) Bartell Turner-Tashjian; grandchildren, Nehemiah Costine, Jenna Turner, Colson Turner, Mila Tashjian, and Eden Bartell; sisters, Sharon (Tom) Goergen, Connie (Don) Pegg, Andrea (Don) Palen; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis and Gail Meagley; sister and brothers-in-law, Bonnie (Les) Fleet, Bud Meagley, and Christopher Meagley; and a large extended family. He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Eileen Bartell.
All are invited to calling hours from 6pm to 8pm Wednesday, May 8 at Believers Church, 304 Swaggertown Road, Glenville. A memorial service will be held 11am Thursday, May 9 at the church.
