William "Bill" Frank Baumrucker was born on January 24, 1942 in Bay Village, Ohio and grew up in Palatine, Illinois.
He came to Louisville for college, graduating from the University of Louisville with a math degree and found the love of his life, Ruth Coomes.
Bill spent 30+ years at IBM where he won many sales awards, made life-long friends and achieved a permanent barstool at Holly's Bar. He finished his career at Software Information Systems before readily enjoying his retirement.
Bill enjoyed following the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Browns, playing golf and poker with his Hunting Creak neighbors and traveling with good friends, especially to the beach. He was an avid Louisville Cards fan and was at his best with the Ruthie B Tailgating crew.
He is proceeded in death by his mother, Violet Smith Baumrucker, and his father, Frank William Baumrucker.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth, his children Gina Baumrucker, Karen Hunt, Scott Baumrucker (Shannon), Lisa Karr (Scott), grandchildren Kendall, Emma and Elizabeth Baumrucker and Hayden, Samantha and Nathan Karr, sister Carol and other close relatives.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 26th from 2pm-6pm with his Memorial Service to follow at 6pm at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.
The family suggests memorials may be made to Pallitus Health Partners or Paws with Purpose.

Anyone who knew Bill and Ruth knew that they were a wonderful twosome. I have known them for over 60 years and Bill and I had many close business relationships. He and I were sales partners at IBM and the early '70s. I left Louisville for 30 years with IBM and when I returned Bill and I reacquainted. He managed the office for software information systems and wanted to retire. He asked me if I would manage the business which I was happy to do. He also introduced me to his golfing group and I still play with that to this day. Attached is my favorite photo of Bill& Ruth
