William "Bill" Robert Bequette, beloved father, devoted son, brother, and cherished friend, passed away on September 13, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 63. Born on November 10, 1961, in Pullman, Washington, Bill lived a life full of passion, kindness, and an enduring commitment to helping others.

From his early days growing up in a loving family, Bill’s heart was tied to adventure and laughter. He fondly recalled spending summers with his cousins in Montana, fostering a lifelong affection for the mountains. An engaging storyteller, Bill had a knack for bringing joy to any conversation, always ready with a funny story that could lighten the mood and evoke laughter among friends and family.

Bill's professional journey began as he dedicated over 25 years of his life to serving as a Senior Retirement Plan Consultant at INTRUST Bank before transitioning to Adams Brown as a Retirement Consultant. His career was marked by a genuine care for others—a reflection of his personal values. He took great pride in not just advising his clients, but also in nurturing relationships that transcended business.

At the heart of Bill's existence was his family. He was a loving father to Valentina and Seth, always eager to support them in their various activities. Whether it was playing with his dogs or sharing precious moments during the holidays with family and friends, Bill’s joy often centered around his loved ones. He was known for hosting festive gatherings, spreading warmth and cheer to everyone who crossed his threshold.

Bill also made it a tradition every Christmas to venture out with his children to share loaves of pumpkin bread with the homeless, a testament to his generous spirit and compassion for the less fortunate. He was deeply involved in his community, participating in organizations such as Ducks Unlimited and the Rotary Club. His commitment to service was unparalleled, exemplified when he gifted his own shoes to someone in need.

With a strong belief in the power of education and community support, Bill played a pivotal role in the North High Alumni fundraising events. His efforts enriched the lives of countless students, helping to secure necessary resources for the school. Bill had a heartfelt passion for prison ministries, finding profound connection with those he met, believing strongly in the possibility of new beginnings for everyone.

As a proud graduate of Wichita North High School, Kansas Newman College, and Kansas State University, Bill’s journey was defined by a pursuit of knowledge and a love for learning. His infectious personality and compassion for others left a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of enjoying his company.

Bill's legacy will endure through the "Billy Bucket" Bequette Scholarship Foundation," which his friends and family will establish in his honor. This foundation seeks to support the educational aspirations of students pursuing trade schools, reflecting Bill’s commitment to helping future generations. In life, he eschewed the spotlight, preferring to uplift others, earning him the affectionate nickname "Billy Bucket." In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts be made to support this scholarship.

Bill will be warmly remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his generous spirit, and his lively laughter. He is survived by his father, Robert K. Bequette; stepmother, Sophia Bequette; mother, Marilyn A. Gibson Lambrecht; sister, Debbie Bequette-Robins; brother-in-law, Ricky Robins; and his beloved children, Valentina G. Bequette and Seth Bequette.

The world has lost a luminous soul in Bill, but through the love he shared and the lives he touched, his spirit will flourish in the hearts of many. A memorial service celebrating Bill’s remarkable life will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 10, at Pathway Church in Wichita, Kansas. May his legacy of kindness and compassion continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know him.
