WILLIAM EDWARD BOYTE, SR
COX FUNERAL HOME
BASTROP, LOUISIANA
The Celebration of Life for William Boyte Sr will be held on Saturday, February 1st, 2025 at 2:15pm at the Pentecostals of Sterlington with Pastor Ercel Clark, Jr. and Pastor Simeon Strickland officiating. The family will receive friends preceding the service from 12:45pm-2:00pm. Committal services and interment will follow at the Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery, Bastrop, Louisiana under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.
William was a very generous man who was always willing to help everyone and he never met a stranger. Everyone who knew him has a memory of his joking and playful personality. William worked hard all his life: as a heavy equipment operator, he worked overseas in several countries and he worked for Georgia Pacific for 20 years before retiring as a pipeliner. Work always came first, but in his free time he enjoyed gardening and fishing. William was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene Boyte, his son Scott Boyte and wife Tonya Boyte, his brothers: Dean Boyte and wife Mary, Allen Boyte and wife Polly, Bobby Easom and wife Deborah, his brothers-in-law: James Brown and Tommy Ratcliff, six grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Mr. Boyte was preceded in death by his son, William Boyte, Jr. and his wife Tonia Barnes Boyte, his father Dillard Boyte, his mother and stepfather: Lavada and CW Hackworth, his brothers: Steve Boyte, Johnny Mac Boyte, Chuck Easom, Mark Easom, and Jim Easom, sisters: Joyce Boyte, Sharon Brown, Vicky Lynn Ratcliff, and sister-in-law Paula Easom.
Serving as pallbearers are Daiken Boyte, Jordan Boyte, Ethan Boyte, Kadie Wheat, Jason Duncan, and Matthew Wheat. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Hogan and Randy Parker.
