William "Bill" Patrick Cantin, 52, of Columbia passed away at home with his loving family on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 after a valiant battle against cancer.
Bill was born on May 15, 1973, in Kansas City, MO to William and Susan (Kimmerly) Cantin. He grew up in southern New Hampshire where he spent much of his time hiking in the White Mountains. He graduated high school from Coe-Brown Northwood Academy in 1991.
Following high school, Bill went on to further his education at the University of Missouri where he would obtain a bachelor's degree in English and then his master's in Public Administration. Bill was a career public servant and worked for the City of Columbia for 24 years, most recently serving in the role of Neighborhood Communications Coordinator.
On 12/30/1995, Bill was united in marriage to the love of his life Angie Huffaker in Ava, MO. This would be the beginning of life as a fun-loving, family man for Bill, and within a few years following their marriage the happy couple would welcome their two children Hannah and Bill into the world.
Bill loved being a father and took great pride in his children. They will both love and cherish his memory forever and will carry with them their determination to see through the goals he was always proud to support.
Bill was a huge Boston Red Sox fan, loved anything related to Doctor Who, and enjoyed spending time in nature. Above all else in life, Bill was a devoted family man. He loved his wife and kids above all else and those closest to him knew how much he cared.
Bill is survived by his wife Angie Cantin of Columbia; their two children, Hannah and Bill Cantin of Columbia; his mother Susan Cantin of Arnold, MO; and three siblings: Cris Zamanov (Andrey) of North Carolina, Mike Cantin (Tanya) of Idaho, and Tim Cantin (Melissa) of Arnold, MO. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his father William "Bill" Cantin and his grandparents.
