William "Ron" Clontz, 86, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024 to be with his Lord and Savior. Born on September 14, 1938 in Wilmington, NC to the late Isaac Herman Clontz and Martha Helms Clontz. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Nancy Clontz; brother, James Clontz; sister, Patsy Robinson; nieces, Cindy Vanlaar (Franco), Nicole White (Mark), Merri Martin (James), Kitty Paulette Goforth (Dale), Tamra Dixon; nephew, Scott Dixon (Amy) and many more great nephews and nieces.
Ron graduated from Taylorsville High School in 1956. In 1961, he graduated from Indiana Technical College where he received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering. In 1962, he served as a private in the U.S. Army. After the army, he worked as a project manager at International Paper, as well as Form-Fab fabrics. In 1986, he obtained his Real Estate Broker License where Clontz Commercial Investments specialized in merger and acquisitions in NC and SC for over 30 years. During that time, he was also a valued member of the Executives Association of Charlotte, NC.
Ron was a devoted member of St.Francis United Methodist Church in Charlotte, where his faith in God and his service as an Usher touched the lives of many there. He was a certified private pilot for small engine planes and an enthusiast for golf where he played often at his local course. Ron had a fun personality and loved life to the fullest. We will miss his big laugh and sense of humor.
The family invites friends and loved ones to a visitation that will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024 from 2 PM – 4 PM at St. Francis United Methodist Church, 4200 McKee Rd, Charlotte, NC, 28270. A graveside service will be held for the family on Monday, December 9, 2024 at 11 AM at Taylorsville City Cemetery, First St. NE & E Main Ave, Taylorsville, NC, 28681.
