A memorial service for William Manning "Scooter" Coward, III, 60, of Cleburne, Texas will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 25, 2025 at Rosser Funeral Home Chapel.
William "Scooter" Coward, III passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025 in Cleburne. He was born on February 27, 1965 in Cleburne to William M., Jr. and Patricia Ann (Davis) Coward.
Scooter was a member of the 1982 state semifinalist of Cleburne Football team and played for the University of Texas 1983-1984 football teams. He was a millwright, general foreman, commercial construction contractor, and business owner. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He loved building cars and his '73 Camero. Scooter was of the Christian faith. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Survivors include his father, William "Manning" Coward Jr. and wife Shirley of Bono; son, William Manning "Quade" Coward IV; daughters, Kirstin Bailey "Kirsti" Coward and partner Stephan Elliott and Ambri Austin Coward and partner Samuel Coats, all of Cleburne; 10 grandchildren; sister, Susan Rachel Coward and partner Marcus Haynes of Cleburne; stepsister, Tammy Howe and partner Joe Paul Davis of Weatherford; stepbrother, Tony Howe of Cleburne; and a host of extended family and friends.
