This is the story of William "Waddle" Cronister. Waddle was an amazing man who was a hard worker, loyal friend, devoted uncle and the best brother anyone could ask for. He is loved, will be missed beyond words and never forgotten.
Waddle's story begins here on May 20, 1972. He is the second child of Martin Cronister and Jacquelyn (Baker) Cronister. He spent a small part of his childhood in Thompson, IL. before moving to Pecatonica, IL. to grow up through his teen years and adult life. He attended Pecatonica High
School where he graduated and made some friends. He would become to be known as what some people would call "The Corner Kids". These friends are how he got his nickname Waddle. With these friends he would have some fun, maybe get into a little bit of trouble and just enjoy life through his teen years. He would go on to become an Environmental Services Tech Lead first for Rockford Memorial Hospital for many years and then needing a change moved forward to Saint Anthony's Hospital. This is where he would work for the remainder of his days.
Bill was an avid fisherman. Most of his days off you could find him at some river bank or a lake, sometimes alone and other times with friends enjoying what he loved. Kicking back, relaxing and just relishing in the down time.
Then came another great joy in his life, his niece Makenna and his nephew Maxson. He loved them beyond measure. He couldn't wait to spoil them every chance he got. One of the things he loved most was to hear them running through the house shouting Uncle Billy, Uncle Billy where are you.
Loved ones that paved the way for him are his father Marty, his mother Jackie, grandmothers Lois Baker and Martha Cronister, grandfathers Jake Baker and Ozzie Cronister, step-father Richard Christen and aunts, uncles and his niece Emerson.
Loved ones who will miss him, sister Bethy Cronister, sister Tedra(Jamie Mayer)Goff, brother Robert Cronister, niece Makenna, nephew Maxson and aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
There will be a celebration of life on October 1st., from 3pm-6pm at The Mayer Farm located at 6260 Best Rd. Pecatonica, IL. You can shed tears that he is gone or you can come and smile and remember all the great moments he shared with us.
And so the story must go on through his family and friends. Our brother was a man of few words but in his heart every person that shared a part of his life meant joy, friendship, and love.

Bill was someone you had to get to know in order to know him personally. We worked to together for a few years at Rockford Memorial then at OSF . He was very kind respectful, nice, soft hearted and he´ll be missed.

So sorry to hear about this. I worked with Bill at Hamilton sunstrand till we were outsourced 18 years ago. He had a very rough exterior Gruff exterior but once you got through that he was definitely a teddy bear. Again so sorry for your loss.
