Mr. William Curtis Eley, known to friends and family as Curtis, was born on December 23, 1963, in Cartersville, Georgia. He passed away peacefully in his home on September 13, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and a love for life.
Curtis was an exceptional mechanic who dedicated many years to working with heavy machinery. His expertise and pride in his profession were evident in every task he undertook, and he continued to work in this field up until his passing. His commitment to his craft exemplified the qualities of diligence and integrity that he cherished.
Beyond his career, Curtis had a passion for adventure and the open road. He loved riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, embracing the freedom they offered. Growing up on a farm instilled in him a deep appreciation for animals and a love for horseback riding with a particular fondness for Tennessee Walking Horses. His entrepreneurial spirit and versatility made him a jack of all trades, thriving in a variety of endeavors throughout his life.
Curtis is survived by his loving children: Cole (Courtney) Eley of Adairsville, GA; Amanda Radford of Seattle, WA; and Nechelle (Mike) Barnwell of Statesboro, GA. He is also survived by his siblings, Mark (Kay) Eley of Cartersville, GA, David (Arlene) Eley of Cartersville, GA, Elizabeth 'Kaye' (Scotty) Edwards of Cartersville, GA. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren: Dillion (Logan) Barnwell , Rylan Barnwell and Zoe Barnwell, as well as a great grandson, Braxton Barnwell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Kay Eley, who passed away in 1983, and Faye Elizabeth Whitley Eley, who passed in 2021. He also joins his maternal grandparents, Marion and Retha Whitley, his paternal grandmother, Kanzady Eley, and his granddaughter, Carter Elizabeth Eley, in eternal rest.
Curtis leaves behind a wealth of memories and a profound impact on all who knew him. He will be remembered not just for his skills and work ethic but also for his adventurous spirit.
In keeping with the family's wishes, Mr. Eley will be cremated and no formal services are being planned at this time.
