William Emery Obituary

William (Bill) George Emery slipped the bonds of this earth for his eternal life on September 26, 2025.

Bill was born in Washington, Pennsylvania on August 17, 1966 to William R. and Leddie C. Emery. He was the oldest of three children. He resided with his family in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania where among other things, he acquired a love of cars and road course racing. He was predeceased by his parents, paternal grandparents, Dr. Raymen Graham Emery and Mrs. Elsie Alberta McElwain and maternal grandparents, Marie Blosat Hartner and William George Hartner.

After working as a Little League camp counselor, Bill followed his love of working with children and pursued an undergraduate degree in education at Bucknell University. He worked with the Williamsport Area School District as a teacher, department supervisor of Social Studies, and building principal. Bill pursued a master's degree in school administration, specifically school principal at Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA.

Bill married his soul mate Pamela Lee Cortinovis of Williamsport, Pa. They shared thirty-five magical years together facing life challenges and sharing a close and solid bond of love. He will be profoundly missed through the rest of Pam's life.

Bill has one step daughter, Rachel Marie Muffley and one grandson, Aidan A. Scalise of New Kensington, PA whom he dearly loved. Bill enjoyed spending time with Aidan. It was not uncommon to see them together engrossed in a scary movie or on an adventure to see dinosaurs, or to have Aidan crew for him at a racetrack. Bill is survived by two sisters Jill Emery, and Janis Emery Feron. He also has several cousins with whom he shared fond memories of a wonderful childhood.

Road course racing was Bill's ultimate passion. He raced for over seventeen years at courses near and far. His RX 7 and then TR7 gave him pure joy and sometimes, frustration. His ultimate racing joy was a good running car on a clear day with an open road course. In the neighborhood, Bill could be found on any given day, welding, fabricating, and working to improve his car.

Bill and Pam loved to travel. They spent time in many places such as Mexico, Hawaii, Jamaica, Palm Springs, Key West, and their favorite beach place, Hatteras, North Carolina. At any beach, Bill could be found standing on the shore, looking out at the surf, and solving the challenges of his life.

Arrangements are being made by Crouse Funeral Home & Cremation Services. A memorial celebration of his life will take place at the Wildwood Cemetery Chapel, 1151 Wildwood Blvd., Williamsport PA 17701, on October 18, 2025 at 10:00 am.
