William Essen Obituary

He was born in St. Louis County on January 17, 1952 to the late Malcolm Essen and the late June (Hayes) Essen.
On August 5, 1972, Bill was united in marriage to Brenda Kemp, she survives his passing
Bill received his bachelor's degree in business from Lincoln University, he also graduated Second Lieutenant from the ROTC Program at Lincoln University. While having a career with the State of Missouri for twenty years, Bill served in the Missouri National Guard. During his time of service, he was deployed to Kuwait during Dessert Fix where he was the highest-ranking officer. Bill eventually retired from the State of Missouri and from the National Guard as a Major. After retirement, Bill was a computer consultant for both Missouri and Arkansas Government, and he owned and operated a business with his wife, Summit Rose Greenhouse in Holts Summit for ten years.
Those that remain to cherish his memory is his daughter, Becki Veltrop (Bill); brothers, Terrance Essen (Becki), Mark Essen; sisters, Alison Jenkins, Cathleen Miles (Melvin), Melodie Vinyard; grandchildren, Elizabeth Walker (Corey), Brandon Essen, Andrew Essen, Christopher Armbruster (Ricajai), and great grandchildren, Tabitha, Berri, Cordell, Osiah, Jeremiah, and Remington.
Bill was preceded in death by his son, Patrick Essen; twin infant brothers, and brothers- in-law, Lonnie Jenkins and James Vinyard.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Maupin Funeral Home with Pastor Lowell Perkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Riverview Cemetery in Jefferson City, MO with full military honors
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Diabetes Association or Central Missouri Honor Flight, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Blvd, Fulton, MO 65251.
