William "Bill" Farrell peacefully passed away with his family by his side at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, on August 28, 2025. Born on May 21, 1934, in Stafford, Missouri, to James Victor and Mildred (Johnson) Farrell, Bill lived a life rich in experiences and love.

Bill graduated from Senior High School in Springfield, Missouri, in 1951. Shortly thereafter, he began a long and fulfilling career at BNSF Railroad, working as a carman from 1952 until his retirement in 1996. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959.

Away from work, Bill cherished his time on his farm, caring for beef cattle, and enjoying the outdoors through hunting. In 1955, he met the love of his life, Shirley Eagleburger, at the Doling Skating Rink. The couple married in 1957, building a strong and enduring partnership.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Shirley; his son, Ronnie (Lorna) Farrell; granddaughters Amy (Dean) Harvey and Bailey (Devin) Keltner; grandsons Ben (Kendra) Farrell and Clay (Dayana) Farrell; and great-grandchildren Zach Harvey, Brantley and Addilyn Keltner, and Maylee and Hallie Farrell. He is also survived by his brother, David (Brenda) Farrell, and sisters-in-law Kay Farrell and Janet Farrell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Russell Farrell, daughter-in-law Kimi Farrell, brothers Jim, Tom, Charles, and his sister, Rosemary.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on September 4, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Greenlawn North, followed by services at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at the Pleasant Hope Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers the family wishes you donate to the charity of your choice.
