William Hayden Fitzpatrick

William Hayden Fitzpatrick, 19, of Clayton went home to be with the Lord on November 25, 2022.
William was born in Atlanta, Georgia on August 18, 2003 to Terry Lynn Fitzpatrick, Jr. and Susan Grigsby Matthews. William was born prematurely and with many complications, but he lived up to his name in every sense of the word and fought hard throughout his childhood overcomeing two open heart surgeries and every other obstacle that he encountered. William was an old soul who loved story-telling, embellishing his stories and dreaming about cars he wanted to buy. He loved to hang out with his friends, play video games and eat. William never followed the crowd, and found pleasure in doing his own thing. William was the kind of guy who could make friends anywhere he went, and always had a heart for people in need. He loved the simple things in life, and was partial to his daily McDonalds trips, but sometimes went to Hardees to shake things up and to visit friends. No matter where he got lunch, he always left with french fries and a sweet tea. William loved his big extended family and will be missed immeasurably by everyone who was fortunate enough to meet him.
William is survived by his father, Terry L. Fitzpatrick, Jr. and wife Nicole; mother, Susan Grigsby Matthews and husband Scotty; seven siblings, Casey Matthews, Natalie Matthews, Sarah Matthews, Brody Matthews, Lily Fitzpatrick, Hadassah Fitzpatrick and Abigail Fitzpatrick; grandparents, Bill and Janet Grigsby, Emily and Dudley Hunt and many aunts, uncle, cousins and family members. William is preceded in death by his grandfather, Terry Lynn Fitzpatrick, Sr.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at United Pentecostal Church, Spring Lake from 9:00AM until 11:00AM. There will be a service honoring and remembering William's life immediately following the visitation at 11:00AM. William will be taken back to Hindman, Kentucky for a private burial at Thacker Family Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Adcock Funeral Home and Crematory, Spring Lake, NC and Hindman Funeral Services, Hindman, KY.
