William E. Fredericks

William Edward Fredericks entered the arms of the Lord on November 2, 2025 at the age of 88. Born June 1, 1937, he was the son of Fritz and Minnie Fredericks. William is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Virginia Fredericks (Turner) and the proud and devoted father of Jeanette Hass (Clifford), William Fredericks (Jennifer), and Edward Fredericks (Marjorie). He was the loving grandfather of Stephanie Manthei (Seth), Jessica Fugate (Michael), Christopher Hass (Emily), and Ashley Fredericks Reardon (Nicholas) and step-granddaughter Brittany Lewis. He was also known as Poppy to his great grandchildren Bella, Noah, Myla, and Sloane. He is survived by his sister Doris Cummings as well as nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sisters Rose McCormick, Eleanor Rosia, Marie Hennessy and his great granddaughter Maci Grace Fugate.
Born in Troy, William graduated from Troy High School in 1956. He later moved with his family to Ballston Spa. He worked for Williams Press and later for Glenville Weekly. Up until a few months prior to his passing, William was still working for Community Care. In his free time, William still loved going on dates with his wife, a competitive morning game of scrabble, and a lucky night at the casino.
William, known as Willy and Bill to many, will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his family, work ethic, humble nature, and famous one liners. William's greatest legacy is his family. His love for them is boundless. Through them, his memory will live on.
