William Kimsey Long, 76, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025. He was born in Resaca, Georgia, on August 26, 1948, to the Homer Long and Tempest Hyde Purcell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Nevin Treadaway and Ivan Treadaway.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Barbara Long; daughters, Terri (Jason) Bone, Tammie (Jay) Baird, Tracie Lindquist; sons, Russ (Brandy) Long, Chad (Rani) Bates; brother, David (Kay) Long; sister, Faye Chambers; sister-in-law, Edna Treadaway; grandchildren, Tyler Johnson, Dylan Bone, Cody (Lynday) Lancaster, Chance (Cori) Lancaster, Cassie Lancaster, Carter Lindquist, Lucas William Lindquist, Aiden Long, Allorah Long, Addie (Mason) Scherbarth, Austin Bates, Kallen Bates; great-grandson, Riley Johnson.
William was a very loyal and loving family man. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh and make others laugh. He was a talented poet and painter. He was of the Christian faith.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
A memorial service will follow the visitation on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
