It is with heavy hearts that we announce William "Bill" Allen Mathis, 67, of Beloit, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, February 10, 2025.
Bill was born on Saturday, January 18, 1958, in Beloit, Wisconsin, the son of Clyde Jennings and Shelby Jean (Wright) Mathis. Bill spent his years out of high school working at Fairbanks Morse in Beloit, Wisconsin until he relocated to Iowa, where he was employed at IBP Meat Packing. Bill returned to Beloit and worked as a landscaper until retiring.
Bill was an avid fisherman. He was a simple man that loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed being at home with his family, friends, and his cats, Buddy, and Angel. Bill will be missed and fondly remembered by those that knew him.
Bill is survived by his children, Nicholas Mathis, Crystal (Kyle) Wallace, and Andrew Mathis; grandchildren, Kyia, Alissa, Braiden, and Dominic; siblings; Clyde J. "Jim" (Donalee) Mathis, Vicky (Drew) Squires, Darby Allen, Mike (Joann) Mathis, Gary Allen, and Gwen (Matthew Johnson) Allen; along with many nieces and nephews.
The family will be planning a celebration of life that will take place at a later date. As the Overflowing Cup was close to his heart and gave Bill much comfort, memorial donations can be given to The Overflowing Cup, Attn: Pastor Dave Fogderud, 1175 Madison Road, Beloit, Wisconsin 53511. Hansen-Gravitt Funeral Home, 424 Prospect Street, Beloit, Wisconsin 53511 is honored to be assisting the family. Online condolences can be shared at www.hansengravitt.com
