William "Bill" P. McCraith, of Livonia, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a long and brave battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was 75 years old.
He was born August 09, 1946, in Norfolk, Virginia, to the late William and Rita (Reed) McCraith. Bill grew up in Southfield, where he attended Southfield High School and graduated in 1964. After high school he would attend both Schoolcraft College and Eastern Michigan University. While attending EMU, Bill would meet the love of his life Linda while walking to class one day. The two would be married on June 11, 1966, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Flint, Michigan. Bill worked as a salesman, selling Haworth furniture to office buildings for his career.
Bill will be remembered for having a fabulous sense of humor, having a love of music, being a competitive archer, his skilled leather work, running, cycling, playing guitar, being a history buff, for frequently singing "My Girl" to his loving wife Linda, and all the love he shared with those who knew him. He will be dearly missed by all.
Surviving are his dearest wife, Linda McCraith; loved children, Billy (Jennifer) McCraith IV, Wendy (Rick) Wright; grandchildren, Corie (Thomas) Mardeusz, Robert (Rachael Tesorero) Ringe, Ryan McCraith, Sarah McCraith; great-grandchildren, Peyton Mardeusz, Maxwell Mardeusz; brother, Kevin (Connie) McCraith; sister, Michele (Julian) Wargo; father-in-law, Franklin Maxwell.
Sadly, Bill is preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Haas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Gleaners.
Please keep Bill and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
The McCraith family will be planning a private memorial service in the future.
