William E. Mendonca, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in New Bedford on August 19th. He was 64 years old. William was the devoted husband of the late Maureen A. (Doyle) Mendonca, with whom he shared a deep and loving bond.
Born on July 4, 1961, in Fall River, Massachusetts, William was the son of the late Edward and Nancy (Rocha) Mendonca. He grew up in Fall River and later moved to Middleboro, where he created lasting memories with his family and friends. His spirit was as vibrant as the fireworks that celebrated his birthday, and he carried that joy throughout his life.
Bill was the proud owner of Electrical Lift Services in New Bedford, where he dedicated many years to his work as a forklift technician. His expertise and commitment to his craft earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and clients alike. Beyond his professional life, Bill found immense joy in off-road biking, relishing the opportunity to explore scenic trails and embrace the beauty of nature.
He is survived by his two daughters, Melissa Mendonca of South Weymouth and Amanda Harmond of Braintree. William was also a cherished grandfather to Carter and Jayden Smaller. He leaves behind his two brothers, Andrew and Joseph Mendonca of Middleboro.
In honoring William's wishes, funeral services will be private, with cremation taking place at Vine Hills Crematory in Plymouth. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Homes in Plymouth.
William E. Mendonca will be remembered for his kindness, his laughter, and his unwavering love for his family. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
