William E "Bill" Mills

William E. "Bill" Mills, 91, of Centre Hall, peacefully entered into his eternal rest on Monday, November 17, 2025. Born on September 9, 1934, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late William E and Margaret May (Jamison) Mills. On July 21, 1991, in Virginia, he married Barbara A. Keller, who preceded him in death in 2022.
Bill attended the Centre Hall – Potter High School. He enlisted with the United States Army where he proudly served his country until he retired as a Master Sergeant in 1973. During his enlistment, he earned many ribbons, medals, and accommodations for his honorable service. From 1973 until 1989, he enjoyed life as a farmer. After marrying Barbara in 1991, he drove tour buses for Mansun.
Bill was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Boalsburg. He was a true servant to his country, community, and his Lord and Savior. He was a lifetime member of the Centre Hall Fire Company and the Centre Hall Legion. He was also a member of the first CAB Association and the 5th artillery and 30th field artillery divisions. He enjoyed going out to eat, gardening, antiquing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his three stepchildren, Jodi A. Williams and her husband, Scott, Debra K. Reese and her husband, Robert, and Charles A. DeVinney and his wife, Carole; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his wife, Barbara, and his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his stepson, Randy DeVinney; and all five of his siblings, Frederick Mills, Alice Reed, Nellie Mason, Helen Schaeffer, and Pauline Beback.
A funeral service will be held for Bill on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 1pm at the Barbara Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc in Centre Hall. Military honors will immediately follow at the funeral home. Following Bill's wishes, he will be laid to rest privately next to Barbara at Centre County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, Bill requested memorial contributions be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105-1942 or to the Zion Lutheran Church, 105 Old Boalsburg Road, Boalsburg, PA 16827.
