Carol J. Day

Carol J. Day, 77, formerly of Milesburg, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the Wynwood House in Centre Hall. Born on October 1, 1948, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Mahlon and Sarah A. (Botts) Peters. On November 23, 1968, she married the love of her life, Jack R. Day, at the Milesburg Baptist Church. They shared 42 years of marriage before Jack's passing on November 3, 2010. Following his death, Carol made her home with her daughter, Jackie, in Bellefonte.
Carol was a proud graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School, Class of 1966. She devoted her life to caring for her home and family and spent 30 years as a school bus driver with the Eagle Valley Bus Company, faithfully transporting Bald Eagle Area students to and from school each day.
She attended Freedom Life Church in Milesburg. Carol enjoyed shopping, especially her trips to Boscov's in Altoona, attending yard sales and auctions, taking scenic drives through the mountains and spare of the moment road trips. She loved to crochet, and her beautifully made doilies remain treasured keepsakes for many family members and friends.
Family was at the center of Carol's life. She cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and took great joy in family gatherings, picnics, and any time spent together.
Carol is survived by her two children: Jaclynn H. Zucco and her husband, Christopher, of Bellefonte, and Jamie A. Day and his wife, Stephanie, of Huntingdon; six grandchildren: Jessica Kilborn (Micheal), Jason Zucco (Christina), Brock Day (Katie), Jesse Day (Monique), Olivia Day, and Tylor Chowka (Brittany); and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Patricia Moyer, and her husband, Dean, of Milesburg, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Peters Sr.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 2–4 p.m. at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Milesburg. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Josh Simonetti officiating. Burial will be private, and Carol will be laid to rest beside her husband at Eagle Cemetery in Boggs Township.
