William Minor Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

William Markland "Mark" Minor, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025. He was born on October 14, 1955 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late William and Joan Minor (nee: Garner). Mark had reached the age of 69.
Mark is survived by his wife and soul mate, Debbie Ciaramitaro (nee: DeRousse); his sister, Sandy Shoup; his three daughters, Lauren Shelley (Kevin), Courtney Minor, Taylor Minor; his four grandchildren, Camryn, Ava, Oliver, Ella; his bonus children Nick and Megan Ciaramitaro; and his goofy canine companion, Luna.
Mark graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Management Sciences and Quantitative Methods Degree and worked in Telecom and IT for various companies throughout his career.
Mark valued his family and friends above all else. He showed his love for them through acts of service, unwavering encouragement, and a sense of humor that brought light to every situation. He had a knack for "Dad" jokes, silly dance moves, and solving problems. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand or show up to support those he cared about. He would happily spend hours researching the smallest of questions just to help someone find an answer.
As an endlessly-curious person who loved a challenge, Mark had many hobbies and activities to fill his life with joy. He was eager to learn about anything that interested him. He enjoyed traveling, hiking, and mountain biking. He loved to take photos of nature and outer space. As a self-proclaimed "food critic" with an unmatched sweet tooth, every bite was worth savoring. He believed food was a way to connect, celebrate, and bring people together. But of all his passions, music was by far the biggest. He played the drums for most of his life, and loved rocking out with his band Social Distraction.
Mark and Debbie shared many passions in their years together. They enjoyed cooking dinner at home, visiting National Parks and other scenic locales, and they both had a deep appreciation for music. They frequented concerts, contemplated the meaning behind the lyrics to their favorite songs, and never missed a chance to see Matchbox Twenty or Rob Thomas live. Eminence, Missouri was a particularly special place for them. They visited every summer to go canoeing on the Jacks Fork and Current rivers, and loved exploring the beautiful springs.
Mark was a kind and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He showed genuine kindness and respect for everyone. He was funny, easy-going, thoughtful, and selfless. He always listened without judgement, and provided unconditional love, support, and advice. His ability to see the good in everyone was inspiring. He maintained a positive spirit and good sense of humor no matter what life threw at him.
Mark leaves behind a legacy of kindness and warmth, along with a lifetime of memories for his beloved family and friends.
A memorial visitation will be held for Mark from 3:00pm - 6:00pm on Thursday, July 24, 2025 with a 6:00pm Celebration of Life Memorial service to immediately follow at Hutchens-Stygar Funeral & Cremation Center, 5987 Mid Rivers Mall Dr., St. Charles, MO 63304.
Memorial donations are appreciated to Evelyn's House Hospice Care in honor of Mark.
