William Moser Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial on Sep. 23, 2025.
William Alan Moser, 68, of Staten Island and Woodstock, New York, passed away on September 17, 2025, leaving behind a legacy rich in music and love for his family and friends.

Born and raised on Staten Island, Bill was the son of the late Anne (nee Gibbons) and George Moser. While remaining rooted in Staten Island he moved with the changes in his life and the travels that accompanied his love of music and family.

Bill graduated from college, where he played division 1 basketball at Fairleigh Dickinson University. He ultimately joined the New York State Court system as a court officer working primarily in Manhattan and Brooklyn Criminal Courts before retiring. Within the court system he was well loved for his character, personality and irreverence. He retired in 2024.

Prior to working for the Courts, Bill worked at Kenny's Castaways in NYC where he tended bar and met his first wife whom he joined in Montreal QC and had his first child. While there he worked in a wood shop building furniture and immersed himself in the live music scene. During this period of his life he also road and tour managed some of the earlier punk and Rockabilly bands including Robert Gordon, Chris Spedding, The Nils, Johnny Thunders, and others. His devotion to music never ended. In later years he resumed road managing and returned to touring with Robert Gordon and Chris Spedding, both of who he deeply admired as musicians and considered to be some of his dearest friends. He found great joy in managing and arranging tours for these and new acts. Bill was also a notable musician who both played guitar and sang the songs of these bands and one of his idols, Johnny Cash, an artist he adored on stage and off. His children have grown up listening to this music and many other artists and will always connect this with their father.

The two things that Bill loved most were family and music. He took tremendous pride in his family and loved them all dearly. He is survived by his loving children Frederique Dumas, Alexander William Moser, Christophe Peloquin, Shane Ellis Moser, and Samantha Anne Moser; his cherished grandson, Bodie Moser. Bill is also survived by his siblings, George, Geraldine, Marilyn, Charlie, and Laurie Moser, as well as his former wives, Catherine Dumas and Kimberley Slade.

It´s been many years since I´ve seen you. My sister and I will never forget the days of Kenny´s and The Cat Club and of course Berkshire Place. You were such a gentle soul. Rest easy. God Bless.
