Brainard Funeral Home and Cremation Center - Wausau ChapelWilliam W. Ott, age 93, of Wausau, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
William was born in Wausau on March 23, 1932. After serving in the Army in the Korean War, Bill was very proud to attend and graduate from Valparaiso University, Indiana. He worked many years for the Social Security Administration in Wausau. He married Ruth Ann Krueger on October 20, 1956. She precedes him in death as well as his parents, Walter and Ann (Butenhoff) Ott; daughter, Lynn Ott; and sisters, Helen Jaskie and Lois Frank.
Bill is survived by his nieces, Karen Dulap and Jamie Hammes, as well as numerous extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church, 709 N 6th Street, Wausau. The Rev. Steven K. Gjerde will officiate. Visitation will take place from 9:30 am until the time of service at the church. Burial with military honors will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. A lunch will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau.
We would like to thank the staff at The Gardens Assisted Living, Wausau and the ICU staff at Aspirus Wausau Hospital for their care and compassion.
