William C. Records

William C. Records (Bill), age 90 passed away on June 26, 2022 at his home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana surrounded by his family.
He was born on January 30, 1932 in Newark Delaware to the late Claude A. Records and Hilda E. Webb. He graduated from Newark High School in 1950, where he excelled in Football and Basketball. He married his High School sweetheart, Virginia M. Thornton and together they raised four children.
Bill was active in coaching Little League Baseball at Newark American League, and coaching football for the VFW Junior team of the Capital Trail Football League, leading numerous Championship teams.
Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed his four children, twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
In August 2022, he would have celebrated his 72nd anniversary with his beloved sweetheart Virginia.
In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his sister Doris A. Wilson.
He is survived by his wife Virginia, daughter Robin L. Brown (Jeff), son Bill Records (Ann Marie), son Fletcher Records (Debbie), and daughter Gail L. Jennings (Steve), along with his beloved 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, a sister, and numerous niece and nephews.
Bill remains loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held on Friday July 8, 2022 from 9AM to 11AM at the Doherty Funeral Home located at 3200 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE where a Funeral Service will immediately follow at 11AM. Burial will take place at the White Clay Creek Church Cemetery.
