Mr. William Richard “Rick” Mullis, Sr., age 70, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. The family will be celebrating the life of Mr. Mullis at a later date.
Mr. Mullis was born December 13, 1954 in Cabarrus County, NC a son of Peggy Crowley Mullis and the late Sonny Mullis. Rick was a faithful employee of INA Bearing where he worked for many years leading up to his retirement. Rick was an outdoorsman at heart. He found much joy and peace when sitting in a deer stand or on a boat. Rick was also an avid NASCAR fan and he rarely missed a race. More than all else, Rick loved being a husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his father, Mr. Mullis was also preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Mullis.
Survivors include his wife, Melissa Mullis of the home; son, Richard (Kristie) Mullis, Jr. of Concord, NC; mother, Peggy Mullis of Kannapolis, NC; grandchildren, John Talbert, Allen Talbert, Megan Mullis, Christina Mullis, Natasha Mullis; sister, Linda (Dwight) Lowder of Kannapolis, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in Mr. Mullis’ memory to the American Cancer Society, www.donate.cancer.org.
