William "Bill" Saxon passed away peacefully on February 13, 2024 at the age of 81 in San Antonio, Texas.
Bill was born on October 5, 1942 in Medford, Oregon to William and Helen Saxon. Soon after graduating from Lanier High School, Bill joined the U.S. Army. He served 23 years demonstrating dedication and commitment to his country. Upon retirement from the Army as a 1st Sergeant, he continued to work in a Civil Service position at Fort Sam Houston until his retirement. Bill was known for his friendly and loving nature.
After marrying Cecelia, they lovingly raised their blended family of 9 children. He leaves behind beautiful memories of love, laughter and traditions that will be carried on for generations to come.
He is preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife Cecelia Saxon, brother Luther B. Saxon and children Ahrlene Wood (Lonnie) and David Saxon (Kathy).
He is survived by his sisters Helen Goode and Amalia Glisson, children Margaret Ann Naylor, Paul De Hoyos (Audrey), Elaine Saxon, Tina Baltazar (Louis), Annette Mandujano (Juan), Antonio De Hoyos (Mariana) and Brenda Saxon (Alan Mettler) and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Services to honor Bill's life will be held at Mission Park Funeral Chapels, 3401 Cherry Ridge Drive, San Antonio, Tx 78230. Visitation will take place on February 27th from 6-8 p.m. The service will be held on February 28th from 12-1 p.m. with procession to Fort Sam Houston Cemetery.
