William Joseph Smith, age 84, of Bon Aqua, TN, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, TN.
William was born on October 27, 1938, in Cheatham County, TN to the late Brantley Leland Smith and Maudine Gibbons Smith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Patricia Smith and sister, Andrea Ladd Smith. He is survived by his son, James Goodwin (Donnise) Smith; grandchildren, Amber Paige (Darrell) Hollars, Jacob Houston (Jessica) Smith, Isabella Rose Smith and great grandchildren, Presley Reece Hollars and Emmalee Smith.
William was a devoted Husband, loving Father and “Pop.” A Self-proclaimed bibliophile, lover of learning and educating and fond of a good chocolate chip cookie. He loved his family reverently and always wanted what was best for them.
A family gathering will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2023, from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Boyd Funeral Home. William will be laid to rest with his wife, Patricia, at Will Smith Cemetery.
