William David Stinnett, a cherished member of the community, passed away on September 29, 2025, in Plainfield, Indiana, at the age of 85. Born in Acme, West Virginia, on October 30, 1939, he led a life marked by dedication, service, and commitment to his craft and family.

William married Donna J. (Ferrell) Stinnett on June 18, 1960. He served in the United States Army for nearly a decade, having enlisted in March 1955. His military service was a testament to his character and values, embodying the spirit of duty and honor that he carried throughout his life.

After his time in the military, William became an over-the-road semi-truck driver, a profession that he embraced for 47 years. His time on the roads not only shaped his work ethic but also connected him with the countless individuals he met along his journeys. He was respected by peers and friends for his reliability and expertise in the trucking industry.

A proud Mason for 62 years, William took his degrees in Ohio before transferring to the Plainfield Lodge #653 in 1964. His dedication to Masonry was a significant aspect of his identity, reflecting his commitment to the values of friendship, charity, and integrity.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Donna J. Stinnett of Plainfield; son, William L. Stinnett (Judy) of Plainfield; daughter, Sherry A. Dzul (Adrian) of Plainfield; sister, Barbara Hatfield of Myrtle Beach, SC; 3 grandchildren, Chad L. Stinnett (Lindsay) of Brownsburg, Brent A. Clark of Indianapolis, Marissa Dzul of Plainfield, and 2 great grandchildren, Owen R. Clark and Violet H. Stinnett.

William was preceded in death by his father, William Lee Stinnett, and his mother, Annie (Bryant) Stinnett; 3 brothers and 1 sister. His legacy will live on through the memories he created and the lives he touched during his time on earth.

As we honor the life of William David Stinnett, we remember a man whose contributions extended beyond his professional endeavors, much admired for his kindness, dedication, and steadfast character. His presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know him.
