William Randolph “Randy” Sutton, age 81 passed away on Saturday, Oct 29, 2022 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on March 1, 1941 in Nash County, NC, he was the son of the late William R. Sutton and the late Mary Elizabeth Ray Sutton and was married for over 56 years to Mrs. Nada Vondelle Geick Sutton, who survives. Randy was a proud husband, father of two and grandfather of four. Randy served as a Military Policeman in the Air Force from 1963-1968. After returning from Vietnam, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University in 1969 and went to work as a proud employee for Jewel Box/Carlyle & Co. and spent his entire 40-year career with them, until retirement in 2009. He spent his years of retirement with the love of his life, playing with his grandchildren and following Alabama football.
He is survived by his wife, Vondelle; a sister, Linda; his two sons, Michael and wife, Janice and Jeffrey and wife, Rebecca; four grandchildren, Wesley, Mari Jane, Hannah and Clara.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 PM Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at stjude.org.
