William Anton Urbanowicz, 94, of Troy Township passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, May 16, 2024, at Ohman Family Living at Holly.
William was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Anton and Elizabeth (Jackson) Urbanowicz on August 23, 1929. After graduation from Salem High School, he received a bachelor's degree as a mechanical engineer from the University of Cincinnati. He was also a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army. William worked for McDowell-Wellman and Atlas Car & Manufacturing in Cleveland, Ohio.
William liked farming, playing bridge in the Thursday Bridge Club. He was a world traveler and enjoyed going out to eat and spending time with family and friends.
William will be greatly missed by his family, his children, William (Jill Cory) Urbanowicz Jr., Sue (James) Manion, Jennifer (Patrick Sebastian) Urbanowicz, Michael (Tina) Urbanowicz, sister Janice Doing, grandchildren, Laura Reedy, Michael (Brittney) Urbanowicz, Katie (Matthew) Manion, Casey (Kathryn) Manion, Nicholas Sebastian, Nathan Sebastian, Jack Urbanowicz, Jeffrey Urbanowicz, Kaleigh Urbanowicz and great grandchildren, Gabe and Sophie Urbanowicz and Theodore Manion.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Calling hours and Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM with the service starting at 11:00 at Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High Street, Middlefield with Father Jacob Bearer officiating. A private burial will take place at Slitor Cemetery.

I worked for Bill in 1977 at Atlas Car & Manufacturing on Ivanhoe Rd. Great person and boss. I used to joke with him that I wanted his gold plated hard hat when he retired.

We met with Bill several times to chat on his front porch. We just purchased the farm behind him and wanted to meet our new neighbor. He had wonderful stories that he shared with us. He gave us a tour of his barn with all the great pictures of his adventures. He was a kind man with a wonderful smile. May he Rest In Peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
